Jane’s Walk 2012 – Trinity Bellwoods Park

Jon Harstone, local historian and author of the book “Between the Bridge and the Brewery” (PDF here) has graciously agreed to lead the community in a Trinity Bellwoods focused Jane’s Walk for 2012. Here is what he has planned for the walk:

Trinity Bellwoods Park has many stories to tell; during the walk we will trace the route of Garrison Creek through the park, look for traces of buried bridges, discover the location of a Blockhouse that defended Toronto during the War of 1812, find evidence of the original Trinity College as well as several demolished houses, and visit a 200 year old Bitternut Hickory tree, one of the oldest trees in Toronto.

When: Sunday May 6, 1:30 PM, approx 2 hours.

Where: Northwest corner of Queen and Gorevale
