The OMB Hearing for 410-446 Bathurst Street (aka 420 Bathurst Street) regarding RioCan’s proposed development will begin on October 9. Councillor Layton passed a motion at City Council directing the City to send a solicitor to support the decision of the Committee of Adjustment in refusing the developer’s application and to oppose the Site Plan Application (see the motion here: http://bit.ly/QlOhIg)
At the OMB hearing, residents will be able to speak (and potentially be cross examined) as “participants” . We have arranged for the City Solicitor, Brendan O’Calloghan, working on this case to meet with all of us on Thursday September 27. He will inform us of the process and how to prepare our arguments and statements for the hearing beginning on October 9th.
Please let Ashley know (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you can make it to the meeting:
OMB Hearing Preparation – RioCan/420 Bathurst Street
Thursday September 27, 7pm-9pm
Room 2, Scadding Court Community Centre
707 Dundas Street West
If you are interested in registering as an individual or group with Party Status (i.e. you would like to retain a lawyer), please contact me for more information. However, Party Status is not required and is onerous. Instead, as a “participant” you are able to speak, submit written statements and present arguments. The City has Party Status and our lawyer will be there to argue against the application.
