Update on “Fresh” patio request (Queen St. West at Crawford)

Fresh patio on Crawford St.

Fresh patio on Crawford St.

The original request for a permanent enclosed patio for Fresh Restaurant was rejected. This rejection was partially due to the proposed use of public land for private gain.

Fresh has now proposed a temporary structure. While the proposal wording was unclear whether the structure would be removed at the end of patio season, the TBCA has now confirmed that it will only be in use on a seasonal basis. Also, proposed bike parking that would have further taken space from pedestrians has been removed from the current proposal.

Congratulations to both Fresh and the Community for coming to an agreement regarding the new use for the sidewalk beside the restaurant.
