Queen West Safe Injection Site Public Consultation, 7pm on April 14, 2016

bathurst-richmondThere is currently proposal for a small scale, nurse supervised injection service to be operated out of the Queen West Community Health Centre at Bathurst and Richmond. You can see all of the details and an FAQ on Mike Layton’s website here: http://mikelayton.to/public_health

A public consultation will be held on Thursday April 14, 7pm at the Scadding Court Community Centre (707 Dundas Street West).

As part of the consultation process, the Queen West Community Health Centre is opening up their doors every Wednesday evening in April so you can see the centre and ask your questions.

Environment Day (Free Compost, eWaste Disposal) at Central Tech this Saturday

Joe Cressy is hosting a Ward 20 Community Environment Day this Saturday, April 2nd, 2016. It will be from 10am-2pm in the Central Tech parking lot.

Highlights will include:

  • Musical performances by local artists from the Open Tuning Festival
  • Free tree raffle
  • Free compost pick up
  • Donation of gently used items and safe disposal of household hazardous waste
  • Exchange your damaged green bin for a new one / pick up one if you’re a new resident
  • Learning about the City’s many green initiatives, and ways to make shrink your environmental footprint
